Making Underarm Waxing a Breeze!

A popular service in the beauty industry is waxing, but how many times have you been asked: is it going to hurt? Will I break out? Will my skin turn red? So we have compiled some tips you can share:

Tip #1 Exfoliate and scrub the area before getting waxed. This can be done the day prior to appointment. It clears away impurities and unblocks hair follicles, which will make it easier for the wax to remove the hair and making it less painful.

Tip #2 Take a painkiller! It is recommended to take an anti-inflammatory medicine about 30 minutes before wax, such as ibuprofen. You can also apply a numbing emulsion such as Dermacaine. This product is highly effective, contains lidocaine and will temporarily numb the area, thus making it less painful.

Tip #3 Think of the length of hair you are going to wax! If itā€™s really short or if just shaven, the wax may not remove the hair properly and if it is too long it can be painful. If it is too long, make sure it is trimmed.

Tip #4 Make sure the area is dry. If there is an abundant amount of deodorant or perspiration, wash the area with warm water and pat dry with a towel. The warmth of the water will soften the skin and allow for better removal of unwanted hair. You can also apply a talcum powder to absorb extra moisture.

Make sure you always use soothing oil with calming ingredients after any wax service; this will help reduce redness and add hydration back into the skin.

There are so many benefits to getting waxed! With proper waxing it always takes longer for the hair to grow back and leaves the skin really clean and soft.
