Waxing Tips and Tricks

Waxing is the most efficient method for hair removal but using the proper before and after care will increase the success of your service.

Pre Waxing Care

Here are the following ideas to prepare the skin for easy, painless hair removal.

Wait at least 3 to 5 weeks between each visit so the hair can grow up to ¼ inch. If the hair is too short, the wax will not be able to grab the hairs as well as it would be if they are longer.

If you’re very sensitive, take painkillers about 20 minutes before your services so the process won’t hurt as much.

Avoid alcohol and caffeine as they will make the blood vessels larger and nearer to the skin.

Stop shaving.  Shaving between your services will reverse the benefits of waxing, including removing hair from the root and having silky smooth skin.

Use a pre-depilatory antiseptic lotion to clean and remove any thing on the skin like, oils, creams and sweat.

Use baby powder to leave the skin clean and dry for a better waxing service.

Post Waxing Care

After care will decrease ingrown hairs, reduce redness and swelling, and sensitivity.

Keep the waxed area clean, and avoid heat and friction during the next 24 hours.

Avoid swimming in chlorinated pools, hot tub, hot yoga and intensive work-out.

After your hair removal services, dead skin layers can build up and trap hairs. When hairs can’t grow out, they grow back in, resulting in ugly bumps, which can be the early sign of ingrown hairs.
To prevent ingrown hair, exfoliate daily during shower or bath.  Also use an ingrown hair serum after the service to prevent and eliminate ingrown hair.
